Routers

Basically a router is an intelligent switch that interconnects two or more networks and selectively directs data packets. Each data packet contains information which a router can use to determine the destination of that packet.

I'll be demonstrating in this section how to configure a common router such as Netgear.

Configuring a router with a built in modem to access the internet may seem like a daunting task at the best of times, well believe me when I say it isn't, it's actually quite simple and my how-to guides will demonstrate the simplicity. Some guides on the internet do over complicate the process but I have devised my own in plain UNDERSTANDABLE text with no "tech jargon" for you to follow.

At the minute only the Netgear page is live but I will be updating other router types soon (Don't worry though there's hardly any difference). I will also very soon have a page up for cable broadband users such as virgin customers ( You didn't think I would leave you out did you? ) I've actually had just as many requests for cable how-to's as I have ADSL.
